If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
The central message of Christianity is simply love. We are called to love the Lord with all our heart and we are called to love our neighbor as our self. It is impossible to claim that we love God and follow Jesus Christ if we fail to love our brother. Because if we are truly a follower of Jesus Christ and we are abiding with the Lord daily, than we will naturally be filled with His love and His grace.
There are many who claim to follow Christ, but if their hearts were to be examined it would reveal that they have not given their whole heart to God. What the Lord truly wants is our hearts. He doesn’t want lip service, He doesn’t want programs, He doesn’t want mere exercise and ritual that is simply void of our whole hearts.
There is nothing that we can hide from the Lord. Let us daily draw near and simply fellowship with Him in the place of intimacy. He has called us to come boldly to the throne of grace with confidence because we are declared righteous by simply placing our faith in Jesus Christ. If we are to truly be the people God has called us to be then we must be filled with His love, grace, and mercy.
