If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.
The Lord has told us clearly from His word that if we lack wisdom in any area to simply ask Him. This includes anything. The problem we often run into is that we try to operate from a place of human wisdom. Our wisdom is based upon the present because we cannot see past today. But Godly wisdom operates from a place of an eternal perspective. When we find ourselves in a difficult situation we simply need to ask the Lord for wisdom and He will provide.
It is interesting when the Lord gave King Solomon the opportunity to ask anything of Him. Solomon could have asked for riches and fame, but instead he simply asked for wisdom to govern correctly. Because Solomon ruled from a place of Godly wisdom riches and everything simply followed.
Too many times people get caught up in seeking our and searching for things. We must always seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness. As we seek the Lord and ask Him for not only wisdom but also from strength we will live the overcoming and abundant life that Jesus promised.
