Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
We are called to grow into a place of maturity in our relationship with Jesus Christ. One the day that we choose to follow Jesus Christ our journey with the Lord simply begins. But we are called to daily abide in Him through the study of His word and spending time alone with Him in the place of prayer. As we develop deep intimacy with the Lord we will see His plans and purposes come to pass in our lives.
We must speak the truth. Everything we speak must align with God’s word. For life and death are found in the tongue and one sign of maturity in the Lord is when our thoughts and our words align with His. When we first come to Christ we have many things that need to be transformed and changed. But a natural result of drawing near to the Lord and spending time alone with Him is that our lives reflect who He is.
Let us simply seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Let us take our eyes off ourselves and off our circumstances and may our eyes be focused upon the Lord alone. As we focus upon Him and seek first His kingdom, our lives will be filled with His peace and presence. Many Christians struggle because they simply fail to seek first the Lord’s kingdom.
