8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. 9 God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you 10 in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you. Romans 1:8-10.
The apostle Paul was a man of prayer. He understood the importance of prayer and He understood that it was prayer that opened the door for the gospel to be preached. Our battle is not against flesh and blood. Our battle is against Satan and his dark forces throughout the earth. Every fallen angel that aligned themselves with Satan when he rebelled are simply now in slavery to Satan and his schemes.
Satan was overcome by his own beauty and majesty and in his pride believed that he should be worshiped. He forgot that he was a created being and that the creator of all things alone is the only one who deserves worship. Today we who follow Jesus Christ have been targeted by the enemy. But this doesn’t mean that we need to live in fear or hesitation. Through the finished work of Christ we have authority and the enemy is defeated. The Lord has given us the tools we need to accomplish His will, but we must activate and use those tools.
Let us daily lift one another up in prayer. Let us diligently each day pray and pray without ceasing. Let us pray in the Spirit on all occasions and relentlessly go before the Lord in prayer. The enemy will try to discourage us and keep us from the place of prayer, but the only thing that will keep us from God’s throne is ourselves. We are called to go boldly before the Lord with confidence. Let us flood the throne of God with prayer and see His glory fill the earth.
