Allow the little ones to come to Me

“But He said, Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain or hinder them, for of such [as these] is the kingdom of heaven composed.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭AMP‬‬

This first reveals the heart of God for children and especially how He sees us. Jesus knows our every weakness because He has walked in our shoes and experienced our pain. One of the great deceptions of the enemy is that he tries to make us fearful to come to God. He tries to convince us that somehow the Lord is angry with us or holding things against us.

But when we truly understand the love of God we understand His love is not based on our behavior or what we have done. His love is based on who He is. The bottom line is that God is love. He loves us with an everlasting love and simply desires for us to draw near. We are able to draw near because of what Jesus has done.

When we begin to draw near to Jesus on a daily basis is when our lives begin to be transformed. He is where true life is found and when we fail to draw near we try to walk with Him in our own strength and the only result when we do that is we fall on our face.

This doesn’t mean we won’t have difficulties in this life because we will. But the Lord will carry us through every one. This also doesn’t mean He won’t allow us to experience the consequences of our actions. He will and He uses it as a learning tool to grow us and mature us. But we must focus on His love for us and understand how He truly sees us. He sees us as children and the truth is children make mistakes. But through it all He does not give up on us or abandon us. He continues to teach us, leads us, and guides us.
