The way we demonstrate to the Lord that we love Him is obedience. Words without action are very cheap and hold no value. To tell God that we love Him yet live for the world and chase after the desires of the flesh is hypocrisy. There is nothing that is hidden from the Lord and I am often amazed that people live in hypocrisy believing it is hidden from everyone including God.
If we desire a deep intimate relationship with Jesus Christ it requires obedience and sincerity. It requires that we walk in obedience to the Holy Spirit. The more we walk in obedience the more sensitive we will become to the Lord’s presence and His leading. Those who claim to be in Christ but are comfortable living in sin actually don’t have a relationship with Him. If they did the conviction of the Holy Spirit would not allow them to live in comfort while indulging in sin.
There is a vast difference between truly knowing the Lord and knowing about Him. There are many so called Christians who know about Jesus. They can even tell you some things about the bible. But to truly know the Lord is to be transformed into His image. To truly know Him is to know His heart. Our actions reveal the condition of our heart toward God. If He is truly the number one priority then our lives will be defined as a life of obedience.
