2 Thessalonians 3:1-5: Pray for us

“As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:1-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The apostle Paul throughout this section asked time and again for prayer from fellow believers. The apostle Paul understood the power of prayer and how it is through prayer that the kingdom of God is advanced on the earth.

Many times people desire to be in the spotlight. They desire to be up in front of large crowds preaching. But as I seek the Lord He reveals how much intercessors who don’t desire to be known are needed. He desires those who don’t desire to make a name for themselves.

We can become overwhelmed with the circumstances that stand before us. But we must remember that we follow and serve the one who spoke all things into existence. He has designed the world in such a way in which He accomplished His purposes through the humble prayers of His people.

Let us be willing to be a person of unceasing and faithful prayer. Let us pray all things according to the Father’s will. Let us pray in the Spirit on all occasions. God moves at the prayers of His people. No matter the discouragement you face, keep pressing in and praying.
