Do you not know that you are the temple of God

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.

We are called to be holy because the Lord is Holy.  He lives within us through the Holy Spirit.  Holiness is righteousness lived out.  Righteousness is a gift from God that is received when we place our faith and trust in Jesus Christ.  Too many today in the body of Christ treat their relationship with God like it is simply a hobby or something that is simply done on Sundays.

We need to understand that the decision to follow Christ is a decision that takes place day in and day out.  Daily when we wake up we are faced with the decision whether we are going to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit or are we going to indulge in the lust of the sinful nature.

Every where we go we take the Lord with us.  He desires to use us to bring glory to His name and the transformation that takes place in our lives is the greatest testament to His power and His grace.  But transformation only takes place as we spend daily time in God’s word, not only reading His word, but daily time studying His word.

As we study God’s word on a daily basis it focuses our hearts and minds on Jesus Christ. It causes us to meditate upon God’s word and to meditate upon God’s word means to think upon it over and over again.

In this life we have two choices each and every day.  We can either draw near to the Lord or draw near to the world.  There are no gray areas and the distinction between the ways of the world and the ways of the Lord become greater every day.  As the world continues to fill with darkness as people open their hearts more and more to sin, those who serve and follow Jesus Christ according to biblical truth will stand out from the rest.  Let us truly understand the God we serve and understand when we calls ourselves Christians that we represent the name of Jesus in all things.
