15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15
Jesus understands our weaknesses because He has walked in our shoes. He has been tempted in every way that we can be tempted. We are called to go with boldness before the throne of grace because Jesus has purchased our salvation and through Him we are righteous.
Too many times we get our eyes focused on our short comings. We need to always remember that our lives are a work in progress. As we move closer to Christ we are transformed into His image. But this is a journey that takes a life time. It doesn’t happen overnight. Where we often make a mistake is we take our eyes off Jesus and focus on our weaknesses.
Jesus paid the ultimate price so that we could draw near to God without hindrance. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden they hid in shame from the Lord because of the sin that was upon them. We no longer have sin upon us because it has been washed away. The only thing that remains is the righteousness of Christ. I am not saying we will not make mistakes and we may fall short at times, but we must always remember in Christ we are no longer sinners, we are righteous through Jesus Christ.
