“To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”Proverbs 21:3 NIV
Our actions on a daily basis reveal the condition of our hearts. We can claim to follow Jesus Christ, but if our lives are empty of the fruit of the Spirit and the character of Christ then our claim is empty and pointless.
Faith without works is dead. Merely claiming to follow Jesus is nothing. If we are truly walking in genuine faith then our lives should reflect the life of our savior. It is impossible to abide in Him and not be transformed. As we simply spend time in His presence we are changed from the inside out.
What the Lord desires is authentic believers. He desires those who are hungry and thirsty for His presence. The reason Jesus went to the cross was to redeem all that was lost in Eden. Adam and Eve when they were created had perfect fellowship with God and when they sinned it was marred.
But the Lord has not left us to die in our sin. He has provided a way through Jesus that once again we can have fellowship with Him. But if we begin to follow Christ and fail to abide, His life giving power will not flow through our veins.
Today be willing to abandon those things that hinder your walk with Him and seek Him without abandon. When we truly understand the depth and gravity of His sacrifice for us we will simply desire to lay it all down before the cross. He desires for us to draw near and He desires to lavish His love upon us. Let us draw near with our whole heart.
