The Lord is my refuge

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.  Psalm 91:9-13

In Christ we have the ultimate protection.  The Lord has commanded His angels to watch over and guard us.  Angels are ministering spirits that come alongside us and accomplish His plans and purposes.  We are not alone on this journey for the Lord goes before us and behind us.  He prepares every step along the way.

No matter what we face in this life we have nothing to fear.  It doesn’t mean that our lives will be free from trouble and tribulation because on the contrary it seems that the more we draw near to the Lord the more we are tested on a regular basis.  But as we grow in maturity we come to understand how to overcome the trials we face because we learn to always focus our hearts upon Jesus Christ no matter what.

Today if you are discouraged or overwhelmed simply draw near to the Lord with your whole heart.  He will strengthen you and give you the wisdom needed for every and all circumstances.  The Lord is fully in control and He is working all things together for our good.  Hold fast to the faith and trust you have in Jesus Christ.
