3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6.
We have placed our faith and trust in Jesus Christ have been predestined before the foundations of the world. It was the plan from the beginning that Jesus would come and give His life for all of humanity. The Lord knew when He created Adam and Eve that they would fall into sin. He understood that without freewill that true love could not exist. He also knew that by giving them freewill that they would be deceived.
But God in His grace and His mercy did not leave us to die in our sin. He has made the way possible for us to have a personal, intimate relationship with Him. All of us born into this world are born into sins because each and every one of us are descendants of Adam and Eve. The sin that was upon their lives is transferred to all humanity.
But through Jesus Christ those who place their hope and trust in Him are forgiven of this sin. Sin no longer remains when our faith is placed in Jesus Christ and we are declared righteous by our Father in Heaven. We are adopted into His family and our adoption and our salvation is not based upon our works, it is based upon faith alone.
As we come to understand biblical truth in greater ways we come to know the heart of our Father. He has revealed Himself through His word. Christians who fail to diligently study God’s word, fail to understand who they are in Christ and all they have in Christ. Our being drawn unto God by the Holy Spirit is not by chance and it is not an accident. The Lord has chosen us based upon His grace and His mercy.
We are called to be His vessels and we are called to display His glory. The only way we become a vessel of His glory is by being a person of His presence. As we draw near each day and spend time in God’s presence He will transform us supernaturally into His image.
All that we need is found in Christ alone. Through Jesus we are lacking nothing. We must fix our eyes daily upon the Lord and draw near with our whole heart. As we draw near the Holy Spirit will reveal to us that which must be removed from our lives. We must remove everything and anything that would hinder our growth in Christ. Each and every one of us are responsible for our growth in the Lord. We are responsible to draw near and abide in Him.
