2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:2-8
Trials are essential for our growth in Christ. When we are faced with a trial it is our faith that is stretched. We learn to let go of our own wisdom and we learn to stop walking by what we see with our eyes and hear with our ears. We learn to walk by the promises of God and simply trust God at His word.
We are called to ask the Lord for wisdom in all areas. When we are faced with trials we can feel very overwhelmed and almost feel lost at time. It is vital that we operate from a place of wisdom. When we operate from a place of wisdom we will be able to see and discern things with our spiritual eyes. We see beyond the circumstances that stand before us and we see things from the mind and heart of the Lord.
The work that God has begun in our lives, He alone will be faithful to complete it. Everything we accomplish on this earth for God’s kingdom is simply the work and power of the Holy Spirit at work within us. It is not based upon our own strength, power, or our intelligence. It is the grace of God that rests upon us and makes all things possible.
It is vital for us to always remember and meditate upon the truth that God alone is in control. He alone sits upon the throne of eternity and He stands and exist outside of time. He is omnipresent which means that He exist everywhere at all times. It means that He exists at the beginning of creation and the creation of the new heaven and new earth all at the same time. This is simply why He calls Himself I AM. He holds all things in His hands and He holds all things together.
The enemy we face is simply a dog on a leash. He is only able to do what God allows him to do. Satan is defeated and as born again believers covered by the blood of Jesus we have all authority over the enemy and his schemes. God allows difficult times to come to simply shape and refine us because this journey is simply about being transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. As we are tried and tested and stand upon the Lord and His word our hearts and minds become one with the Lord. Stand strong my friends, He is coming soon.
