We are more than conquerors

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[j]

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.    Romans 8:35-37

There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God.  No matter how many times we fall and make mistakes there is nothing that can separate us from His love.  He will continually pursue us with a relentless pursuit because His love is unconditional and eternal.  Many times when we make mistakes and we fall short the enemy will try to overwhelm us with condemnation.  He will deceive us making himself to seem to be the voice of God, when in fact he is simply a lying and deceptive spirit.

But when we truly understand the love of God and we truly understand how much Jesus truly loves us, we will walk in true freedom.  The freedom we experience when our hearts are focused on the love of God can only be experience.  Some try to understand the freedom they have in Christ, but to understand it one must experience it.  It can only be experienced as we truly understand the truth of God’s word and the truth of who God is.

Nothing can separate us from His love.  We are called to rest in Him and grow in intimacy and maturity.  What we have with God in Christianity is a living, vibrant relationship.  It is not just a set of rules to be followed.  It is a relationship with the Living God.  As we understand this and grow in our relationship with Christ we will become the sons and daughters He has called us to be.
