To him who overcomes

⁷ “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’  Revelation 2:7

To have eyes to see and ears to hear means to simply understand and discern what the Holy Spirit is saying.  There are many who are spiritually blinded and fail to discern the times that stand before them.  But for those who walk closely with the Lord and invest daily in their relationship with Him, their eyes and ears are open wide to hear what the Lord is saying in this hour.

To overcome simply means to be steadfast until the end.  There have been those who have begun with Christ who have abandoned Him along the way.  But for those whose hearts are truly committed to the Lord they will stand fast in the face of any opposition.  Following Jesus is not easy nor comfortable.  But the Lord has promised us that His grace is sufficient and His strength is perfected in our weakness.  No matter what we face as we simply trust the Lord with our whole heart He will lead us to victory.
