I looked when He broke the sixth seal

12 I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. 14 The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.15 Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the [m]commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; 16 and they *said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the [n]presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; 17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”  Revelation 6:12-17

When the sixth seal is broken it releases a mighty earth quake that shakes the earth.  Not only is the earth shaken, the heavens as well are shaken.  None will be able to escape when Almighty God pours out His judgment upon the earth.  When I read through the book of Revelation I thank God for His grace, mercy, and His love.  I thank Jesus daily that I know Him as my Lord and Savior and that I am simply saved by the grace of God.

But how many upon the earth today simply reject the Lord and His truth.  How many chase after the emptiness of this world.  As we look around us we can see the signs of the Lord’s soon return.  Man is abandoning the truth and embracing the deception of the enemy.  But there is a mighty remnant upon the earth.  There is a company of people who have not bowed their knee to this world and its empty ways.

We must pray daily for the harvest to come forth and for hearts and minds to be prepared and softened for the gospel.  The gospel is going forth mightily throughout the earth and hearts and lives are being reached to the utter ends of the earth.  Nothing we pray is prayed in vain and we must simply follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.  The purposes of God’s kingdom shall be accomplished through the faithful prayers of God’s people.  He is refining us daily and we must simply keep our hearts and minds fixed upon Him.
