15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”
16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:
“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.
18 The nations were angry,
and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,
and for rewarding your servants the prophets
and your people who revere your name,
both great and small—
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”
19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm. Revelation 11:15-19
The blowing of the seventh trumpet continues the judgement of the Lord upon the earth during the tribulation period. It will take place during the seven year tribulation when the bride of Christ has been removed from the earth. The blowing of the seventh trumpet continues the judgement of the Lord and will usher in the seven bowl judgement that will complete the judgement of the Lord upon the earth.
Before Jesus comes to establish His millennial kingdom the wrath and judgement of Almighty God will be poured out upon the nations of the earth. God sends forth the gospel at this time so that as many as possible will be saved from the wrath of God. The seven year tribulation will be a time like no other upon the earth. There have been times when the Lord has poured out His judgement upon the world in the flood and has poured out His judgement upon different nations at different times.
But the time of the seven year tribulation will be a time like no other. When we examine and read God’s word and come to understand that which is coming it should place a fire within us to pray for those who are lost that their hearts would be prepared for the gospel and share the gospel as we have opportunity.
Wherever God has placed us is our mission field. We are surrounded by people who are lost and they are broken. When we share the gospel it should always be done in love and with grace. We must always remember that we are simply saved by the grace of God and it is His kindness that has led us to repentance.
