“Am I a God who is at hand,” says the Lord,
“And not a God far away?”
“Can anyone hide himself in secret places
So that I cannot see him?” says the Lord.
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord. Jeremiah 23:23-24.
There is no where we can go to hide from the Lord. One of the great deceptions of the enemy is to tell us that God has forgotten us or God has forsaken us. This is simply a deception and lie because it is contradictory to God and His word. God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us and that which He began in us He will be faithful to complete it.
Another deception of the enemy is to convince people that their sin and their wickedness is done in hiding and is not seen by the Lord. There is nothing that is hidden from the Lord and if we continue in sin and refuse to heed the warnings of the Holy Spirit, our wickedness will be brought forth into the light and this can be a very painful and very embarrassing.
The God we serve is God Almighty. He is omniscience which means He knows all things. He never has to think because He already knows. Nothing is a surprise to Him and He has perfect plans and purposes that fulfill His perfect sovereign will upon the earth.
He is omnipresent which means He is every where at all times. He is at the beginning of time and at the end of time, all at the same time. He is eternal and this is something that we cannot fully grasp with our finite minds.
He is omnipotent which means He is all powerful. There is no one compares to God or can stand next to Him. The enemy is nothing compared to Almighty God. He may lie and deceive the world getting them to believe that he is all powerful and great, but the truth is he is created and only allowed to do what God allows him to do. Nothing more than a dog on a leash.
When we find ourselves in the midst of trial and overwhelmed by the deceptions of the enemy it can be very easy to take our eyes off Jesus and forget how mighty the God we serve truly is. But may we fix our eyes on Jesus alone and remember that every time we go before the Lord in prayer we pray to the one who holds all things in His hand, spoke everything into existence, and leads and guides us to victory and freedom.
Every day we have with Christ is a brand new day. It is another opportunity to fall in love with Jesus more and more. The more we draw near the more our love for Him will grow. As we make spending time with Him the priority of our lives we will be transformed into the sons and daughters God has called us to be. Let us march forward, rise up, and be the bride Jesus has called us to be. A bride without spot, wrinkle, or blemish.
