For the word of the Lord is right

For the word of the Lord is right; And all His work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Psalm 33:4-5 AMP

The word of God is the greatest thing we have on this earth.  It is His very words given to us written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  The word of God is infallible and there are many today who reject it and have no need for it in there lives.  They fail to understand that in rejecting God and His word that they reject eternal life in His kingdom.

This world is simply passing away.  Our time on this earth is but for a moment and for a breath.  Many view their lives upon this earth as something that will go on forever and their understanding of eternity is nothing.  They believe that after death they may come back to earth as something recreated, or they may be in a soul sleep, or simply believe this life is the end.

But Jesus came not only because He loved us but He came because of the reality of eternity and the existence of Hell.  Many who stand behind pulpits today are uncomfortable preaching about Hell because they worry more about attendance numbers and the size of their ministry.  But one who preaches God’s is called to be a faithful steward of God’s truth.  We are called to preach the full counsel of God’s word no matter what it may cost us.  Because this life on this earth is not our own when we have placed our faith in Jesus Christ.  Our lives belong to Jesus alone.

The reality of Hell and an eternity separated from the Living God is one of eternal darkness, torture, and pain.  It is a place where the fire never goes out, we exist in isolation and for every moment throughout an entire eternity we are tortured and caused to suffer all because our sin remains because we choose during our time on earth to reject the gracious gift of Jesus Christ.  As followers of Jesus Christ let us be willing to be faithful stewards of God’s word and proclaim the full counsel of God’s word no matter the cost.
